My 1.0 1990 xfi will cut out around 3000ish rpm. Any idea why it would do such a thing? You can rev past it but it cuts out a bit before it does. It runs fine if you take it easy and dont try to rev that high.

... was just too hot. I need to see whats up with the water temp being so high frist, then I'll try to drive it for a while. As much a I love my Metro XFi anytime something goes wrong with it that I can't fix, I wish we all just rode bikes haha... fixing my car stresses me out!

Sounds like excessive fuel pressure or maybe the fuel pressure regulator diaphragm has split? If you have a fuel pressure gauge, check the pressure first. ... Mine with all that stuff done could get right around 100 with a long flat road and with that weak valve in it. Drivetrain was totally stock xfi so it had less hp than a normal 1L.
