I used this size tire while racing in ITB (SCCA). They were BFG's and I never had a problem with rubbing. 205/55's may cause some issues, though.

Tom

I have 185/60r14 that would occasionally rub when racing... my stock rims come with the crappy offset though... with the proper offset there shouldn't be any problems.

Kyle Jones 1989 Suzuki Swift GTi
Your friendly TeamSwift Op.

I've got these tires on my GTi and have no problems.

That's not a very good size, it will worsen your GTi's acceleration and handling won't really improve with it since the tire is quite tall. Hth

Mark

I have run Toyo Proxes RA1 205/55R14 on my swift and do have rubbing problems. But that is because my car has been dropped by over two inches and has very little travel on the struts. Only rubs when cornering very hard. I used to run 185/60R14 and had no problems. The 205's worked much better and did not slow me on the straights. I have been racing with these tires for the last three years now with no problems. A great tire with great performance. Reasonably priced. Look great too!

Since I will be doing autoX STS this season, I can not use any race rubber. Most high performance tires now don't come in 185/60R14.

Azenis has been consider "the tire" to use in STS. I know the acceleration will hurt due to larger rotating radius and weight. but the handling should be much better than my current D60A2 (185/60R14).

Anybody have other suggestions on what tire to use??

Hey, I have some RA1 205/50 R15 but I haven't install them yet. I will do some cutting on the fenders, I hope it won't rub to much.

Bolivar

If you go to Falkens site, you will notice that all the performance tires carry an "A" traction rating except one which carries "AA" and no, funnily it's not the Azensis, it's the GRB II.

My ex GF put a set of these on her car 185/60/14 and they were absolutely fucking awesome.

Jezza.
