Hey,
Has anyone tried these brake pads for the rear of their Swift? I personally called EBC to ask about rear pads for the Swift GT and they told me NO. But this guy on EBay claims these fit the rear of the Swift GT? I suspect this guy is wrong and these brake pads will not work? Any input or ideas?

Thanks, Shimaze

Hey - I found out they do fit! The 1987 Honda Prelude with the 1.6 carb engine has the same rear pad as the Swift GT as verfied by both Autozone & Rock Auto!

i have a box in my brake parts that is listed for that honda but it's hand printed "suzuki swift gt rear." i bought a bunch of rear gt brake pads on ebay when parts outlets were closing them out a few years ago for pennies on the dollar.

matching them against rear pads in other boxes listed for the gt, they are exactly the same size and shape but instead of adhesive bonded they are riveted.

A word of caution:

The pads are the same only for the base model Prelude from 1984-1987, not the DX or Si. Searching 1984 Prelude helps because the brakes are the same on all 1984 models and these are the ones that fit the Swift, but lots of sites are not properly cross referenced including EBC, which will get you a set that says on the box "all Civic and Prelude rears (under 2 litre)" which isn't true. They're about the same size but have different tabs and won't quite fit.

just for general knowledge and info, I have confirmed that EBC redstuff pads as listed for Prelude, part # EBC-DP3642-2C, do NOT fit a 1990 swift GT. I had to grind the ears to get them to fit, and the shape of the ears are not quite right even after that.

I could not find the EBC pads referenced above so gave these ones a whirl and TOFTT, so to speak.
