I will be making some adjustable rear toe bars for myself, I measured mine and it's 410mm from eye to eye, so I think a minimum of 400mm should be just right. Are the gt/gti or regular swift rear toe bars different?

I don't think there are lots of folks with a 4wd to compare theirs to

I can confirm that the North American G10 and G13 Swifts, Geos, and GT's are all the same for the Mk2/mk3 model years (1989-1994 for us).

But I couldn't tell you whether they are the same as the 4wd Swifts. Here's what I did for toe bars, with part numbers:

These are working well for me, but you may have a better source than http://www.speedwaymotors.com in Europe that stocks proper metric parts--I have substituted 1/2" for 12M, which leaves only a small gap, but is not ideal.

I mean are they the same on other swift, I might make some more for others. I got a set of turnbuckles machined today, will be ordering some rose joints next week. Total cost will be around £70 for both sides, including rubber sealing boots for the rose joint.

Yes, I think they are the same. I measured about 421/422mm between the centers of the holes and 408 between the outsides of the holes. Which is probably close enough with the turnbuckle adjustment even if they are slightly different (I don't think so, mine is off the car, so easy to measure).
