I have a 1997 3/5 geo metro
I have just finished replacing the following:
cv outer boots (old ones completely split), cleaned and repacked the outer cv joints, new front bearings and seals new brake shoes and routers.
I took the whole spindle off for installation of bearing. the rotor and new bearing spun very easy then, the axle also spun easily prior to putting in hub. when they are together it is hard to turn???
Currently status car is still on jacks.
Brake calipers are not installed during this testing. The hubs/axels are hard to turn????? I would expect to make one revolution if spun.
Is this normal for a fresh assembly prior to driving or did I do something incorrectly?
Tire would definitely not free spin if on and jacked up.
I was thinking about the outer axle seal that has a metal cylinder with it that goes from the axle into the hub. I installed in the hub then inserted the axle and tightened axle nut.
What do I need to look at?
Advice is extremely welcome.
