Can I interchange my TB with a bigger TB of another model? Or it will require lot of "fitting"?

Hi , You can use a TB from a 3.0L Nissan , This does require some modification , but when done is well worth the effort.
I have been using this TB on my car for about a year now and I'm very pleased with the performance results.

If you go to my website in the DIY section you will find the how to info for this mod. www3.telus.net/gticouple

Lars

Hi, i have one off of a Nissan Bluebird 1800 (think the engine number is a ca18 ) and i also heard that the ones off of the SR20s work. have to do some minor mods like, port the intake manifold to that size (from your size to 60mm) and you will also have to use the throttle arm and get a big inlet hose to fit on the over size TB . i have not used mine as yet cause i have to get my AFS housing bored out first.

Edited by: nuformz at: 8/27/02 3:30:16 am

Yes, it is true that the TB from the SR20 will bolt straight on .... the suzuki throttle arm and TPS fit without any modifications.

Ian.

Edited by: AfroBoyGTi at: 8/27/02 1:31:05 am

Coolant lines are on the other side ... you will need to get a longer hoses.

Use the suzuki throttle cable linkage because the SR20 has the cable coming from a different direction .... bolts straight on though.

TPS bolts straight on.

Ian.

What about the idle? Do you need to do mods like the other TB off the V6 Nissan.

What cars and years? Did the SR20 come in. As far as the idle curcuit. Have you seen the mod for the TB off the Nissan V6? I was just wondering if it was like it. If you can just tell me the year and car I will go pull one off and look.

It is like the sentra throttle body. No idle air bleed. It looks like a perfect match other than that. I was told on setups like this. If you want to change your idle speed you will need to readjust the TPS every time. This is not fun but, it can be done. Great find for someone wanting a 60mm TB.

It'll be interesting to see if it fits between the firewall and the engine.....have you ever run a tape measure over an SR20's TB and plenum chamber?

jomo, you grade A moron.
that will never work.
i have a tb off an sr20 at home, and an intake manifold as well. if you have EVER seen a sr20 then you would know that trying to put the intake manifold on a swift would be impossible.

all you have do is portmatch the tb to our intake manifold. just because no one posts about doing it yet does not mean at all that they haven't done it, or tried it.

just shut up for once.
-Daley-
1989 Swift GTi - back on the road with a bent frame and all!!
My truly pathetic Site!

OK dipshit, why dont you bolt on the SR20head while you're at it? and you better paint the throttle blade on the throttle body, the air will flow by qiucker and give you more power!!!

you have to try something, unfortunatly some ppl are not willing to do that. i have a friend that got a 1.0 Suzuki Forsa and he puts the GTi engine in, cuts up the cultus intake manifold to put on the four throttle from the Toyota 20valves,
he changes the AFS to a MAP sensor and big ass turbo, a lot more work is done to it but everyone said it could not be done and he did it because he tried.

P.S the engine runs fine with no problems

I agree because inride sent me pictures of this swift runbag's i think it has 25psi with stock suzuki maf now that's crazy ck it out it's in this forum!!! just make your own intake manifold just like it's madd!! air sucks in on the opposite side the transmission side.rospen made a manifold for there carb setup it looks real neat!!!and clean !!!! So to anybody do it and show others then you have justification!!!!
