Hello everybody!!, I have a 90´ Swift Gti and I would like you to help me to decide which performance chip is the best one between tom´s chip , superchips and chips torque or any other brand that you know for street and racing , telling me what kind of gains you obtain or the difference between them

I WILL APRECIATE YOUR ADVICE !

Thanks…..

Juan

Yo. I live in Brisbane and I bought Whiteshadows chip. I just got it installed by Waz Motorsports. Man, It's filth. My girlfriend noticed the power difference too. It's smoother and you hardly have to put your foot down to get the car to go. BUT - The best thing is that it revs to 8700. I haven't pushed it that far but I have to 8200. It sounds awesome! No rev cut which is good cos' I have lost a few races that way.

I'd also like to say I think Tom's Chip would be just as good. Don't buy Powerchip, Chip Torque or superchips. They're crap!

members.shaw.ca/bigbearzu...engine.htm

TO BUY A GOOD CHIP THAT WILL WORK.

Brisbane guy.....told you Waz was useful....did he charge you much? And talk to you about other mods?

To REALLY get the full benefit of a good chip, ie extra fuel and ignition timing, you really need to have other mods done as well. Think about it - it is a bit like having an old carby car and just putting bigger jets and more timing in without changing other things....you can't expect the change to be earth-shattering.

Having said that, there is a smalllllllll gain to be had with just a raised revlimit. Best bet is to find out what your local people are using - that way you will not only get a chip to suit your cars computer but also your local conditions.

off the shelf chips are crap you won't notice the power any decent honest mechanic will tell you that if they calm power from a chip ask them to prove it ON a DYNO

my chip is custom written for the cams etc ....

if you want a chip get it tunned for a mild upgrade decent exhaust + cold air induction + tuned chip ....

I can't stress enough how much benefit you get from dyno tuning and decent Research ...

I have also got the Underdrive crank pulley. It was pretty good. Also I got the Throttle body and MAF from suzitech. I'm having troubles with it at the moment. Not that anything is wrong with it. My car just hestitates a little before it takes off. Any ideas anyone?

Try adjusting the Throttle Positioning Sensor which is located at the back of the TB. Worked for me.
