help. thats about all i can say. my 95 metro, 1.0L with a 5 speed, 185K... ran great since i got it... I finally saved enough money to buy a bigger vehicle, and so the geo sat for 6 months. started up like a charm, ran fine for about 2 hours. blew the timing belt. replaced it, ran perfectly for about 2 weeks and shredded another one. gave up, let it sit for another 3 months, and finally got around to working on it again. its always had major oil leaks and has been burning oil like no other. put it this way, i put in probably 8-10 quarts a week, i started it up and let it run the other night and there was a oil spot under the motor about 8" in diameter and another one about 5" in diameter under the exaust outlet behind the car. what is going on? plus now i cant get it to do more than 55 and once i shift into 5th gear it starts bogging down and backfiring. randomly does it in other gears too. adjusted the idle to keep the damn thing running at stoplights too... i dont know what all is wrong... Any suggestions/expertise?

that's a tough one, but i'd hazard a guess that the head's cam bearings are scored and toasted from oil starvation and that the front main seal is shot. oil on the timing belt and higher load trying to drive the cam is taking out the timing belt.

Dude, if you don't realize this as a serious engine problem, then you need to step away from your cars.

Hows the frame? For a fair price I'd take it off your hands, if the body and frame were clean.
