blacktops were jdm toyota motors. they even had a silvertop. they were high performance 1.6l motors with individual throttlebodies. never heard of a 1.3 blacktop though...

A 1.3L blacktop would be an engine that fell out of a rusted Metro and hit the pavement =)

Yes, but it's a 20-valve version of Toyota's 4AGE.

Well it looks exactly the same as a DOHC 1.3 Gt motor.
Why would it not work?

I know a 1.6 storm motor would not work.
toyota, but why would this not be the same?
the shaft wouldnt go into the tran or what?

Anything can fit with enough money, fabrication and knowledge. So far you're failing on two of the three.

You should read replies to my posts....
I did a search for 4AGE, thanks for the pic Bobzilla. There are 77 post currently (this is 78) on the subject xcoreyishoodx. http://www.teamswift.net/search.php?keywords=4age&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=all&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search

And sameerb1 got the same arguments you are getting on the thread: http://www.teamswift.net/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=41620&hilit=4age

I have seen a G13 installed in place of a G10, trannies align. That's what double the horsepower, maybe. I refuse to post numbers on this forum but it's got to be more powerful, eh. BUT if you can do it, go for it. I'd swap the whole drive train/electronics. Don't sell yourself short, be creative.

It'd be nice if you could pick up an engine like Johnny Mullet suggests... :rollin:

Paint your existing cam cover black. That's all that anyone else has done...
Then tell anyone that is a special "high performance black top engine" and be the envy of the masses (but not the informed).

Well, the last bit of info. I can find on this forum, of any importance, is Swifty92's statement in Sept. "i have actually been looking into doing this swap with a blacktop 4age with a six speed. i have talked to my tuner and its possible. buying an entire front clip makes things much easier. axles are an issue, if the axles are compatible then things are gravy but if they don't fit, things get more expensive. these are very nice motors and are much cheaper than b16's and b18's."

Which pretty much goes along with everyones thinking that we should buy more lottery tickets, take out a third mortgage, or make a swap for the first born male child to finance the conversion. Nzswift's spray paint can idea is less expensive. :ez_wink:
