It is a resistor the alters the Inlet Air Temp Sensor - which most Suzuki's don't have. There is an another version the alters the coolant sensor - nicely documented on Team Swift in the FAQ's (that would be here I think)

As for the ebay resistor - 10HP gain AND uses less fuel to do it - well that extra power if it does exists has to come from somewhere. If you read the ad very carefully, it only promises UP TO 10HP gain. So. from minus where ever you like HP up to +10HP - only the upside and nothing about the downside - and it could save you fuel (but then again, it might not). He does say however, that this one is only good for up to 10HP unlike those other chips that promise 20 or even 100HP.

If you REALLY want to try something like this, read the link above - tells how to do it. I have used a much smarter interceptor on the AFM signal of a NA MK1 GTi DOHC - it is very programmable but doubt it would help a turbo (don't know - never had a turbo to try). Apexi SAFII is the smart (and expensive version) interceptor.
