any one know what the general trigger is for an egr system to kick in? is it only during rich conditions like hard acceleration or during cold warm up? or dose it kick on as it pleases? and that vacuum solenoid valve, is it a simple 12volt trigger, or a 5.5volt?

The EGR system is basically active when the engine is warmed up and not at idle or high load. I think the solenoid is 12v.

It is a 12V solenoid

do you guys figure the valve could handel a meth/water mix?
i'm fooling around a little with water injection at the moment and figure why not replace the exhaust gas entering the engine with a trickle of water/meth? i have already bypassed the egr, so why not? i'll just let the vacuum of the motor draw the water into my "injectors" which are located in the same spots the standard turbo injectors are. (however this is a tbi n/a g10)
just have it kick in when the egr is supposed to...

I don't think the valve will last long. I'm sure there's a spring in there that will rust causing the valve to fail.
