Hey guys, I have a 91 sprint turbo with the 3tech performance package as well as a few other goodies. Living in the lower mainland aircare is always a concern, and I thought maybe some other people would avoid upgrades such as the ones 3tech provides, for fear of failing aircare. Well, here are the results of my most recent run through aircare. As you can see I failed the first time (as I thought I might), and passed the second time. I got it to pass by swapping my 2" exhaust with the cat removed, for the dinky stock exhaust with cat, and adjusting the idle a little. So fear not! it is possible to upgrade these cars and still pass aircare tests. I realize that we hopefully will be getting rid of aircare at the end of the year (fingers crossed), but maybe some people will still find this information useful. Its also interesting to compare it to pre-3 tech numbers.

What are your limits?

Down here (at least on my 93 camry) its 400hc and 3.0 co at both idle and 2500. No other gases are tested.

I have signed off on some 95s that the limits were 220 and 1.0 so I'm not sure what's going on...

I have never had a car pass without the cat. Always feels good to have that behind you for another year. :)
