I just got one of my friends in Australia to order the Wheel arches from GT auto style and ship them over and was wondering if anyone off this site has purchased these flares and knows anything about them? Are they a direct fit? Do they take a lot of moding to get them to fit? and do they work with the side skirts from the GTI?

I am somewhat new to body work  but am planning to mold the kit on my self and prepare the car for paint so am loking for any advise or tips before I get started.........speaking of advise if anyone knows about paint removal some tips would be great!

Thanks  (and the project begins! )

I recently purchased myself some fender-extensions (it was in the Netherlands) but they fitted perfectly and my buddy had them on my Swift in no time.
Aint got no pic's of them yet but just check the album to see if whe're talking 'bout the same pieces.
Classic extensions from the GTI-bodykit.

Man those are going to look great! 8) I had a bit of a laugh cause the photo of your car taken apart reminds me of mine! As for the Arches they do look like the one's I ordered, so hopefully I won't have any problems either. If you don't mind me asking how did your buddy stick them to the car :?: did he use screws or is it a bondo job?

If you get some picks when your done I'd love to see how it turned out...........after seeing your's I really want to start mine too bad I have about a 6 week wait from Austarlia! But hey I've never seen a swift in Canada with the arch extensions so it should stand out!

thanks for the info!

Well, he just screwed them on from underneeth with tiny screws onto the wing, and we also used a lot of siliconglue. He is also gonna 'mold' (don't know the right word in English for smoothing them to the metal...?) them on and with some primer-paint&vernish layers on them, they won't move a bit
I'll post pics when ready.

Don't use any products that contain silicon when you're doing autobody work. If you don't remove it, your new paint will have nasty fish eyes in it.

Off course. Screw from underneeth and glue or silicon on the inside of extension against carbody.
A nice smoothing & paintjob and it shouldn't be to bad.
