those are aimed waaaaaaaaaay to high. aim them down and it will help. or dont use the hid
if you want hid then get the e46 bi-xenon projectors, then you get a high beam and proper low beam cut off, the actuator of the bi-xenon is a simple 2 wire hookup for the high beam

Calm down guys...lol

I haven't had a chance to aim them yet. I just got to actually put the HIDs in them today after having them almost a year.

I am well aware of how NOT to blind oncoming drivers.

I also have a new set of bulbs on the way to replace the one bad bulb.

How did you figure out the high beam and low beam ,wiring?
I've been trying to figure that out on my car.

I have this geo metro Im placing this 3 prong, 4-h1005bu1-prw ,4 x 6 projector light on and it doesnt seem to work.I can get the lights on but they stay with the battery when I trurn them off on the switch..?

Geo metro head lamp electrical system is red/red,white/white,blue

side marker is black/red,orange

The bulb has a 3 prong |-|

I need to know how to make them work properly with high and low beam working and them turning off when the light switch is off.

in your schematic, the shared ground provides a current path for all lights no matter what the state s of the relays. since current can flow through both sides of the hi/lo headlights via the auxilliary hi beams, all lights are on whenever voltage is present.

separate the grounds and give the aux high beams their own dedicated relay.

Total cost :

$10 for the projectors, 9006 bulbs and plugs.(Pull-a-part FTW)

Maybe 3 hours of actual work, not counting the drying time of the JB-weld.

Kyle

Nice job. Awesome. $10 for projector and few more things. Looks as if no much spending to be done. And 3hrs of work looks really amazing.

Finally got around to installing the new headlight switch I received from a member, sphenicie!

Here are the first good pics I have of my current BMW projectors with a 35w 6k HID kit. They are slightly cooked, but they still work beautifully. They will be for sale here soon!

I love this converstion. I am heading down to the wrecking yard this week to search for a doner pair as well as some other parts. My only questions are, on ebay, I see these kits that come with a ballast.? This conversion doesn need one?

Also, am I correct with the idea that "bi-xenon" means that they have high and low beam? Therefore, These "non-bi-xenon" from the BMW's and Accura's are only low beam?

Last thing is, what about the bulb ratings? I see you referance the 9006? I have also seen ebay ads for various numbers like 6k or 8k. How do you know what bulb to put in from the BMW? Did they come stock with 9006 in the BMW?

thanks

BTW, when I do my conversion, I will do a new thread as my headlight housings are not the rectangles like you have pictured. My car is the 89 Metro.. I wanna show that this mod is achievable in my headlight styl as well. 8)

The bulb looked tiny compared to the 9000 series I saw at the autoparts store today?

6k is in reference to the color of the bulb. 4300 is neutral or white. The higher in # you go the Bluer, the lower you go the more yellow.

9006 Is the bulb type.

I have no idea on those Hyundai projectors. Not all projectors are built the same. The BMWs were extremely easy to modify to fit and yielded a very nice result for the price.

We are in the process of putting Acura TSX projectors in the Geo now, and although they will be MUCH better projectors it is a much more difficult conversion.
