My version of the outside mirror delete, and the source of parts I found. Keep in mind that all states have different rules on the topic of outside mirror placement or deletion. My state, Alabama, does not require any outside mirrors, left or right, just one rearward facing. The std rearview meets this requirement, However I chose to keep both left and right but to place inside.

The outside base piece will be reused for the delete, with a smaller piece covering the hole. 2 pieces of Polycarbonate or acrylic are used for the delete and interior mount plates. Outside I used 1/8”, on the inside I used 3/8” both Lexan. I prefer LEXAN or any polycarbonate as acrylic is prone to cracking. Using the original metal mounting plate, found behind each mirror as a template, you drill both plates for the 3 mounting holes. After each piece is cut to size and holes drilled, lightly sand the BACK side of each piece with 400-600 grit paper. Then paint the back side with color of choice. This will allow that color to be seen from the outside of the finished piece, but no paint flaking on the outside.

The outside cover plate 1/8”, I countersunk the screw holes for surface smoothness. The inside piece, 3/8, I threaded the 3 mount screw holes, but sheet metal screws could also be used. The large hole in the center is already present on the car and is a perfect situation for the handle bar mirrors I found. Using the same metal plate as a template, find the center for the large hole and drill the large hole into the inside 3/8” plate.
The handle bar mount mirrors are found at Walmart in the bicycle section. I opted to also buy larger round convex mirrors, also at WM and mount them on top of the mirror that comes with the handle bar mount. About $7 a piece for the bar mounts and $2 for 2 round convex.
After the plates are mounted, install the bar mounts into the large hole, adjust and your back in business.
