Is there any modifications that has to be done to go from a door mounted seat belt assembly to a pillar mounted one???

I really really hate the door mounted belts and want to change mine out, but need to know what all has to be done to do this.

Thanx
Ray G

I changed the belts in my '94 Metro. You can get them from Canada or maybe a 1989 Metro/Swift (my '89 GTi has them). They are pretty easy to put in, I think I had to drill the holes in my pillars. I used a nut and a large washer on the back side of the bolts. There's a plastic panel that gives you access to the inside of the pillar to get the nut in there.

plastic trim is marked on inside for bolt hole knockout

Perfect, I pulled a set of pillar mounted seat belts from an 89 GTi at the junkyard. Now I just have to wait to get my car back from the mechanic (waiting for a new ECU) to put these in.

Thanks Guys
