 Post subject: help with stereo wiring

i just bought a '90 swift gt and would like to install the stereo i have. can anyone tell me which wires do what on the original harness (end on car ,not radio)?<br><br>thx <p></p><i></i>

All you need is power, ignition, and dash lights (if your headunit requires that) I always use my own ground (less chance of noise) get a test light and check which ones have power. I just cut the 3 wires I needed about 2" from the connector so I can always solder back together later. This way all the other wires are still protected in the factory connector. <br><br>I wouldn't use the stock speaker wire. I used a bolt on the firewall on the passenger side of the shift linkage hump just below the carpet. It had zero noise on my car and was conveient for other things..... <p>Keep those RPM's high!www.lobase.homestead.com/lobase.html</p><i></i>
