just recently got my system installed. 2 12's in a box in the rear of my 94 geo hatch are causing my cd's to skip with bass turned up maybe 1/5th the way up. I won't even have the bass that loud and the deck will start jumpinh on the disk. harsh road bumps don't make the deck skip which would seem to be worse. this is just with cd's and mp3's. the deck is a brand new panasonic 8313. i had a pioneer deck in another car with these subs and i could crank them and the discs would never ever skip...

Make sure the deck is in its cage tightly. You can also add a backstrap if there isn't one to hold it in better. Loose dash screws/bolts can also let things flop around a bit. make sure everything is tight. Some decks are no doubt better than others but you can eliminate a lot of it by tightening loose mounting points. I had to get a changer to stop my deck from skipping from bass....and mine was a $1000 deck.

I've never heard of MP3s skipping. And I have a Jeep. I thought the MP3s were scanned into memory or something like that.

You can burn mp3's to a disk aswell as loading them onto an mp3 player.
