ok so ive got a rather basic install at the moment, pics below, none of the components are amazing but they work so im happy haha. basically what im look at doing is creating a whole new boot install (pic below again), two amps behind boxes with frosted perspex windows, two ported boxes and then a custom shelf.

Before i go ahead and do the install i want to make doubley sure i am going to be able to power it, as you can see im using 4gauge cabling for the power and earth, both distributed down to 8gauge. I will be upgrading the big 3 but i want to know if my alternator will be able to power the lot, and if not, where i can get a bigger alternator.

the spec of the system will be...

1200w amp powering 2 x 10" sony xplod subs (1100w each)
600w amp powering 2 x kenwood 400w 6"x9"s

not a huge amount, but i dont want alt problems further down the line.

cheers for all the help, hope you like the plan!

That is a lot of power you will be pulling from the stock battery causing more work from the stock small alt. I hope you are not running a stock battery. I would upgrade to a larger alt and a larger battery so you wont have any interference with any of your other elec....lighting

I am not posotive, but I am sure I read somewhere you can use a 105amp alt from a 89 camaro. Let me check around for you
