hi all does anyone know of a stereo that fits in the ph1 gti dash but with a flip up monitor. finding it dirricult due to being set back in dash

hey I know this is a little while back but if you're having trouble with the screen flipping up then you should try spacing the deck out. some kits come with ABS DIN spacers. if you can't find any you could try to get a piece of 1/2" MDF and cut it to the shape of the DIN opening. place it in the dash and mount the cage, pushing out the tabs further back to not only secure the cage, but you're gonna use the furthest tabs back to hold the spacer in place too. so you'll be sort of shimming it between the cage and the dash. should give you enough space.

you could also try units with smaller screens like jvc's line of kameleon's or other 1DIN sized decks with 3.5" or so screens. then again it does seem you really want that bigger 7".
