Hello there, I just installed a new headunit in my car and am loving it.
Plays DVD's great, tuneable audio is awesome. I have nothing bad to say about this unit

it is a Jensen VM-9512HD cost me $299 not a bad deal I think

Can you control the radio without having the screen out? Can this one do GPS? That's what I'm looking for. I listen to the same station all of the time when I'm not listening to CDs or MP3s. Ideally I would like to find a radio like this where I can control the CD and radio with the screen retracted and only put the screen up when I want to use the GPS.

Yes I too like Jensen/Phase Linear. I like them because I can rip dvd's and re-encode them in Xvid format and play them back in your car unit. This has a few advantages. 1) your DVD is not subject to being stolen from your car, because it's not even in your car. 2) You can copy the movie to a USB drive such as a thumb drive and play them off that. Making it simple to take with you and carry in your pocket. 3) Very few decks can play back Xvid making most of your video files useless to thieves. 4) You can compress a 4 gig DVD to a 700 meg file and and burn it to a cd disk and play your movie off of that in your car. The list really goes on and on.

The only complaint I would have about the Jensen brand is that their preamp outputs are really quite low power wise compared with today's high end decks. It's like 1 watt vs 4 watts for higher end decks.
