I was reading some magazine that had a pic with a car like that and then it mentioend something about a fiat... however, I think I was just mis-speed reading the captions.

I'm familiar with the Forsas old boxy 3cyl Sprints that we have here (no 4cyl in Canada anyway until 89). I think the confusion is because the front bumper is falling off. It makes it look more like a VW/ misc. car bumper.

Here is a site with some pics of our sprints/forsas and such.

www.sonnet.com/usr/matt2/

-Kyle Jones
Junk-Yard Turbo set-up, formerly NOS-fed, constantly evolving 1989 Suzuki Swift GTi

This is the european swift model, that was sold between 1984 and 1988. Here, in germany, are some of these still on the road.
If one of you wants to buy one, mail me back.

It is no Fiat or VW, Im really shure, because I`ve driven some of them and have often been in Italy. Maybe the front bumper is self made.

Niels_oumar@lactoprot.de

Hey!

At the original page, it don't say what kind of car it is. That page is written on spanish and I'm from Spain

The sentence under the picture says something like this:

"The Ecuador tour emotions will come back at the 'car calendar' of 2003"

I think it's a suzuki forsa, that car is common in Ecuador.

I'm confused here. Why was the original post asking about what car and then say "Suzuki Forsa 92 ..." below the picture? Yeah, the grille area looks like the Starlet but the hood and windshield of the more modern Forsa, and the car in the picture, slope more than the Starlet, I think. ... Also, there is something about the C pillar area that makes me think about the old Sprint more than a Starlet.

BTW, The Starlet is an old car under the skin - it shares many parts with late '60s Corolla.

Edited by: Bosco at: 4/3/03 3:27:15 pm

i think the "92 suzuki" under the photo is the dudes signature, and it is a description of his car, not the photo. the photo is definatly a starlet though, starlets are older and kinda lame until they are modded, its the rear wheel drive and the fact they weigh so little that make them nice cars for racing. my buddy is dropping in an mr2 engine, tranny and rear end, playing with the engine and stripping out the interior. he should end up with about 180 hp in a rear wheel drive car that weighs 1500 lbs...

Like was mentioned you can look at the pillars and tell that it is a Forsa/Sprint and not a starlet. The bumper falling off and such defientely leads to confusion.

This scary green thing is a Starlet like above. Pillars are definetely way off.

-Kyle Jones
Junk-Yard Turbo set-up, formerly NOS-fed, constantly evolving 1989 Suzuki Swift GTi

i would say it is a first generation sprint/firefly (aka forsa) with some odd ball rims on it.

If you look closely, you can see the old style push button hood release at the front of the hood. I have no idea what the bumper is from!
www.geocites.com/rallysuzuki
