Hey, I just found out, my chip was dynoed! 5 horses and 10 Nm gain on a stock swift! Woohoo! That's alot for a stock car! The car had only the air filter and a free flow back box. It was tested using a switch, first run with the stock program and the second run with the rally program.

Hi, only just read this, just wondered if you've got any of these left?

Also this may sound really dumb, but do you need a chipped ECU and a standard one already? And this just switches between them? Or is this a chip itself and it's got the ability to swap back to the standard ECU?

Cheers,
Jon

This is a piece of electronic that you plug into the socket that you solder in the place of your stock chip. You also get two LEDs and a push button. That's it. The chip that you get from me, (it's on the PCB board with the other electronic hardware) contains two programs, stock and rally. You choose beetween them by pressing on the push button at any time and any circumstances and at any revs...

...because Vela is the official mad scientist who made it possible!

Too bad I'm too poor right now to afford it, I'm concentrating on paying off my cylinder head repairs (something like $340 to go on that...thank goodness for having a job!)

Otherwise I'd try to rig something up on my MK1, although I think there is a bit of difference as I have the MK1 Phase 1 type GTI, there was something posted about the MK1 Phase 1 GTI chip being only 64K in size or similar (trying to find the post now, because I know I don't really go anywhere else for all things Swift GTI Technical :P)

Any one running the chip switch, with 60 mm t/body and 50 mm afm/maf,let me know as i'm getting slight engine detonation(pinging) while on the rally program.i've checked the normal suspects, played with the timing, bumped the fuel up to 50 psi,air fuel mix seams about right..tried different gas stations.oh running 98 octane..
Thanks.

hi everyone.....i already have a chip in my car but i don't know what kind, because when i bought it, it was already with it....is this chip better then the rest on the market or it's almost the same? what is the fuel consumption with the rally program? in my case i just plug it in i don't need to solder anything, i just plug nad play :) .......can i always start with the rally program or it resets itself every time you turn off the car? oh yea i have a swift gti from 1990, it fits right :D ......tnx, maybe some questions seem dumb but i am rather sure......

Kanta, everything is explained in theese 6 pages. The electronics resets every time you turn off the car, and yes, you can start the car with the rally program. Consumption is a bit higher, depending on the mods. There are no drawbacks.

That looks sweet, how hard is it you say to install, and how much would it cost to get one, shipping and all what not. It should work with a MK4 US GT swap shouldn't it?

Does the chip thing come with instructions ? I have carburated, 95 firefly. I think I chip switch would be useful for stuff like merging and going up hills.

no, not a MK3, I have a US MK4 that I am doing a MK3 G13B swap into it. but I suppose that would make my car a MK3 hybrid, lol

We can tell.

This switch is only for the GTi.

And your engine isn't carburated... it's TBId.

Throttle body injection ? Then why do I have a carburator at the top of my engine.

i still dont see why you would need to change chips, all the chips we have had on the dyno dont do that much, and if you stay in low in the revs it uses no more fuel, than the stock chip the code it the same from the stock chip to the rally chip down low, its only higher in the revs that the chips differ, so if you dont drive flat out everywhere your car will use no more fuel than a stock one, sorry i just dont see the point and think money can be spent else where
