The code is not the same. I don't know wich chip you're using but this one made 5 hp and 10 Nm of torque at the wheels.
And if you would be so kind to read the whole thread, you'd se the other reasons for instaling it. You're a smart guy, I'm surprised you haven't figured out what it's good for.
I sold some to Australia, maybe you could dyno their cars if you doubt this.

We can tell.

This switch is only for the GTi.

And your engine isn't carburated... it's TBId.

Throttle body injection ? Then why do I have a carburator at the top of my engine.

it's not a carb, it's the throttle body.

on a different note, your avatar exceeds the allowable size limits of the site. remove it now, read the rules on avatar size, and quit wasting bandwidth.

I don't believe there was ever a carburated 4cyl engine available in that model in Canada. Show us a pic of the engine. (Seem to be off-topic here...)

It's a throttle body, not a carburetor. Look around to find the various fuses and relays labeled "FI". Every car in North America is fuel injected from 89 on. (maybe every car, I know nothing about mk1s)

This is just a little reminder where all these people who are reaching me all over the world can get all the info about this chip switch.
Best regards from Croatia!

Are there still people who are interested in a chip switch?
I contacted Vela and he was willing to make more if there are 5 people who want one.
I would love a switch like that so I hope that there are 4 more people who still want one!

Just post in this topic if you want a chip switch.

Oh man can't believe it's almost 10 years already.

Bumping this up purely for nostalgic reasons.

Anyone still have their chip switch?

Hahaha! Imagine my surprise when I got the notification from Teamswift! Honestly, I really miss you guys! And if I'm perfectly honest, Swift was my best car so far. I changed everything in it, wheels, engine, electric windows, remote locking, I changed the entire dash for a newer one ffs.
Ahhhhh, hope everyone is doing well. Cheers guys!

Good to hear from you Vela. What car do you drive now, now that the swift is gone.

I could make one of these, but I can't see many good reasons--one use case that sort of makes sense would be if you want to switch to lower grade fuel for a while.

But who does that?

A really good tune doesn't sacrifice very much if anything in mpg so why bother to be able to switch?--unless you are running NOS or something, and well, there's better ways to do things and you'd have to spend a lot of NOS and dyno time to get a NOS tune.

Also, now you can tune with an emulator so you can switch between any tunes you want anytime you want, or just tune your ECU correctly

I still have some parts left, but I don't make them any more. Sorry. I have a Civic, it's a good car but has no caracter compared to Swift.

Once it crossed my mind if it was possible to make a chip (switch) for low boost high boost setup.
A switch for the dual stage boost controller (8psi to 16psi).
And this board for the appropriate fuel and timing at those levels.

Yeah, that's a scenario that would be worth doing, but you'd have to establish the correct tune with an emulator first.

If you do that and send me the .bin files I'd be happy to burn the chip and send you the switcher
