I bought this car a while back because I was interested in the awesome engine and light weight. I have been into RWD for years and thought that just maybe I could deal with the FWD because the swift was so sweet. But, in the end, I just cant get used to the FWD layout even though the swift is one of the funnest FWD cars I have ever driven. I found a super clean Datsun 510 which I am driving daily now - time to pass this gem on to an enthusiast who can really appreciate the great condition its in.

The good:
- OEM JDM Suzuki body kit
- MOMO steering wheel and shift knob
- 15" western rims
- Runs flawlessly, have been driving it every day.
- transmission perfect, no grinding, no popping out of gear, no noise.
- Interior is 9/10 perfect.
- Paint finish is in great shape.
- All stock power train, this car pulls VERY nicely and smoothly.

The bad:
- Minor cosmetic damage on front drivers side corner. Does not affect body kit parts.
- No stereo.
- Mileage unknown due to broken odometer (shows ~116k) but the car does not drive like it has high mileage.

I saw this car for sale on craigslist a few months ago for $1000. It was stated as not starting in that ad.

Yep. I fixed it. :)

Great part was that it was a harmless electrical short and it kept the car off the road for years which led to its uncommonly good condition now. I drove it every day for a few months without a single problem so I am confident in it now.

Hi,

I sent your the offer thru Craigslist. I would love to bring this car back to Dayton. Then there would be two Swifts in town!

If I have it my way I'll get a few more and bring to town.

I though my offer was fair and yes I do remember the old posting too. ;)

A good cross country drive would do me good. Think the car would make it?

Shame on whoever cut the nice rear bumper extension(rare) to put on a fart can muffler! 20 lashes at least!!!

Good Luck with the sale!

Indeed. The guy I got it from (bless his ignorant sole) had no idea what he had. I had to trailer the car home and wrench on it a bit but it was nothing major. Had it fixed up in a weekend and it hasn't missed a beat since.

The fart can WAS NOT ME. It was on there when I got it, it would have cost me about $125 to take it off and I figured I would leave it on for the next owner to keep or kill. Some people dig that kind of thing, not I. It is quite loud and sounds pretty sweet over 4k rpm.. unfortunately under 4k its just plain loud.

Yea, I would drive it cross country no problem. The ONLY abnormalities I have experienced have been once or twice a week when pulling up to a stop after getting off the freeway the idle will drop below the normal 750rpm for like 5 seconds and then pop back up. Doesn't sputter or miss, just drops down momentarily and then rises back up to steady idle. Rock solid besides that weirdness.
