Hello all, screwedzuki here. i am posting this up here to see what the interest would be in a multilayer metal head gasket for turbo and NA cars. what this would allow you to do is be able to run in excess of 30psi without having to O-ring your block. if your block is already O-ringed that not a prblem as this head gasket will work with your O-rings and allow you to run in excess of over 50psi.

these head gaskets are made by COMETIC they make all the head gaskets for NASCAR and also for alot of american domestic vehicles, and foreign imports, such as the DSMs, Nissan, Honda, and Toyota.

if there is interest then please let me know. we have to get a group buy going and the min order is 150 pieces i am going to post this up on as many sites as i can to try and get this going. and the good thing about this is that its not a one time thing, if we can get 150 of them sold then it will be a piece that cometic stocks from then on

here is the price structure for all those interested.
if we sell
150-110 pieces, price = $60.00 US + shipping apiece
109-90 Pieces, Price = $70.00 US + shipping apiece
89-80 Pieces. Price = $80.00 US + shipping apiece
79-70 Pieces, Price = $90.00 US + shipping apiece

the retail price of this unit if you dont get in on the group buy will be $95 US + shipping apiece.

i hope i can generate alot of interest in this item as it is not very expensive and can be a cheap bit of insurance in knowing you wont have to replace the head gasket ever again because of a premature failure.

oh and this piece is going to be made for the DOHC 1.3 but it will most likely fit the SOHC 1.3 as well.

thanks and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.

and i dont have a pic of one for our cars as they have yet to be produced thats why im trying to put together a group buy.

if i have not answered your question to your satisfaction im sorry, ask it again and i will try to do better. :D

MLS (Multi Layer Steel)
The Cometic MLS gasket is comprised of three layers of stainless steel. Cometic uses stainless steel for increased strength, its ability to rebound and corrosion resistance. The out layers of the gasket are embossed and coated on both sides with a flouroelastomer rubber based material (viton) designed to meet the demands of a variety of harsh sealing environments, load conditons and surface finishes. The Viton coating is heat resistant to 250 degrees Celsius or 482 degrees Farenheit.
The center or shim layer of the gasket is comprised of an uncoated stainless steel layer, which can be varied to accommodate multiple thickness requirements. The MLS gasket is ideal for both aluminum heads to cast iron blocks and aluminum heads to aluminum blocks.

The compostion of the MLS will also withstand the shearing forces created by aluminum heads on cast iron blocks. No re-torque is necessary. By design the MLS gasket promotes an even torque load across the sealing surface allowing for measurable reduced bore distortion.

Availble thickness: .027" .030" .036" .040" .045" .051" .060" .065" .071" .074" .120"

i can get any bore from 74mm to 78mm in any thickness.

I hope this answered any possible questions. if not please feel free to ask. thanks.

here are the totals so far.

teamswift has spoken for 10 gaskets
redline gti has spoken for 12 gaskets
uk swift has spoken for 0 gaskets

that puts us at 22 gaskets, 48 shy of our min70 needed. this isnt going to happend if we cannot get more people commited. so please tell everyone you know about this group buy, its going to take community communication. and right now i have less than 600 hits between all 3 boards, with over 5000 members. so please tell everyone you know. thanks

I guess that ordering one single gasket is possible even if this "group-buy" wont go thru?

well i'm in for defenately 1 ( maybe 2 ) .

but i need a gasket that is thicker than oem spec.

so thicker thand 0,045". i think i prefer a thickness of 0,074"

we are at 26 gaskets, this is kind of dissappointing that i cant make this happen. and if i dont sell atleast $6500 US worth of gaskets then this isnt going to happend and right now only having 26 gaskets commited that is putting the price at $250 a gasket, so if we could at least double this # then to 52 gaskets sold then that would only be $125 a gasket, thats still high but i will make a commitment that i will sell everybody that helps with the original purchase gaskets at dealer cost, after we get to where we can purchase the original 150.

or if i can get vouchers for 150 gaskets i will sell these gaskets for $46 US apiece from this original group buy. after they are gone, the price will go back up. this is a last ditch effort.

and to all those who have alreay vouched then your price will go down to $46 US apiece as well for every one you have vouched for. but to make this happen we have to have atleast 150 of these paid for. becasue that is cost, to make this happen.
