Thanks for the compliments, I decided not to make it from a mould as I was only intrested in building one. What I did was just made a fiberglass imprint of my stock hood, then reinforced it with thin high density foam to brace it then laminated a 100% Carbon top sheet. It turned out really good and fits even tighter then stock. I am just in the process of finishing it up, more pics when its done!

I really like yer work. too bad you're not doing a production of them. if your hood turns out as flawless as it looks, you can use that as your jig/plug to make a mold of the hood.

I'm actually gonna make molds. it's gonna take me a while tho. I've got a learning curve to pass. I'm gonna do a kevlar timing belt cover first. I got a hold of a mint timing belt cover, one that's not all warped that I'm gonna use as my jig to make the mold.

I hooked up with this fella locally who has done fiberglass/carbon fiber/kevlar stuff with boats for a long time.

Aussies setup for it first!!!!
suck that canadians (just kidding)
Found info tonight (Redlinegti.com 10\july\05)
heres a pic of a finished product, and a shortcut to thread, and a website
Follow it up..it has been done (still probably worthwhile to wait on Shagpal to do it locally, save on freight and give time to allow for Expen$e of CF hood :) )
This post is just there for those who want it and NOW!! :D
website http://www.topstage.com/
thread http://www.redlinegti.com/forum/vth.159 ... +cover.htm
referral : PM gaz0307 (At redlinegti)
Cheers!
BTW before u ask...guesstimate cost per hood would be $500au to $750au
cheaper option is available if groupbuy put together (deposits for at least 5)
EDIT:Updated post to allow access
See Aussie groupbuy CF hood in this same section :D

Either the picture is screwed up or those Aussies that did it first did it wrong :P:P:P.

There shouldn't be any wrinkling in the fabric like what you can see in the middle of the hood. Nice to see that it's at least getting made though. Mad props to them.

Looks awesome. I like how it has the eyelids on the hood too. Only problem for north america would be shipping. It would about double the cost... :(
