I have been speaking with a guy about the possibility of fabricating me a batch of carbon bonnets for the 89-96 Swift.

He said that if I can get 10+ people interested, the price will be dropped from $900US to around $500US per bonnet. He also said that shipping would be free. So thats a CF hood, delivered to your door for $500.

The quality will be second-to-none; have a look here for more details on the techniques the company use to make the bonnets.

So, is it worth me pursuing this idea?

Yep, Canada too, but there might be a small shipping charge, i'll have to check.

This is just for me to get an idea of how many people are likely to want one of these.

What kind of weight savings is there to making a carbon fiber hood? Maybe only a couple of pounds.

I was approached by someone in the UK with regards to production of carbon fibre bonnets for the Suzuki Swift,i am here to let you know the situation first hand.

We produce many carbon fire products and all are of Excellent quality,it's what we pride outselves on.

Now regarding bonnets

I have said it is possible for us to produce these bonnets but we would need in the UK

10 people minimum, this would mean 10 deposits of 25 pounds,on payment you will recieve your receipt via email or post whichever you decide.By paying this deposit it means you are interested and we can continue to produce them

In the USA or other countries

10 people minimum again as it is not financially viable for us to deal with small quantities due to the price of shipping etc.

I know alot of people have asked about weight savings, well you can expect the bonnets to be HALF the weight of your regular bonnets which as you all know will be an increase in performance.

We can produce a carbon bonnet in a specific colour if you would like (add £45 or Kevlar add £45 or we can do our stunning trapped water weave which is an extra £35)

If you would like any extra information or to send a deposit please contact info@jpsmodifications.co.uk

If the minimum of 10 bonnets is not achieved your deposit will be refunded

Thanks

Chris

I've locked his thread and posted his post on here so that we can keep everything in one thread.

Good luck guys....

I think the stock hood is steel, it certainly isn't fibreglass.

What style will they be made in? Just a regular swift hood but in fibreglass?would there be an optional hoodscoop hole for t3's? kevlar added, what exactly is that? When would u need 10+ people? and when would/could they be made? Can we see any sort of layout...as to what we will be getting specifically for our car? Having pictures of other hoods on other types of vehicles wouldn't really be to great, can it be digitally pictured and posted?

thanks
Mike
