i finally got info. about a carbon fiber hood. i know a guy that just started doing carbon fiber and it looks good. he is in the process of making my hood right now. he hasn't set a full price yet. i'm also going to ask him about a rear hatch. just tell me if you guys are still interested and i'll talk to him about it.

Exactly where on the hood are you putting the scoop? If you put it to close to the windshield the wipers get lifted at hiway speed which causes problems when it rains.

Sprint Gti

A carbon fiber hood would probably not give you any advantage in the weight dept, as the stock is the lightest hood on the market. Even lighter if you remove some braces.

But I guess you would have a different look!

i kind of doubt steve is still actively working on parts for the swifts w/ his new love (neon srt-4), but if you're serious about wanting a cf hood 'n' willing to spend the money .. maybe we can work something out locally here 'n' use my dads shop to build a mold 'n' make them.. i just don't have the $$ for materials right now.
& a spare hood to cut up for the mold would be a benefit as well.
