Multi-Layer Steel

MLS consists of multiple layers of stainless steel substrate with full or half embossments that give the layers function. This product can include a stopper at the combustion seal to limit motion and provide multistage gas sealing. Primary elastomeric coatings provide microsealing for the head, block and gasket layers. Secondary coatings enhance cold-seal capability, reduce friction and prevent sticking.

Features and benefits:

Requires lower clamp load to seal
Decreases cylinder head gasket contribution to bore distortion
Rigid body improves bolt load retention.
Steel construction provides control of compressed gasket thickness.
Robust design resists thermal and chemical attack.
Active seal conformability and resiliency allow for higher flange deflections.
Design permits flexibility to accommodate multiple piston-to-head clearances.

I'll let everyone know when it's in my hands tomorrow.

The Felpro gasket from that part number is not MLS, it is a graphite composite like the Felpro head gaskets i've been using till now. I will quote the 2 Felpro gasket numbers, and whatever meausured differences i can find between them. ....deciding what head i should install now!
