Hi guys. I have a small question for you...
Our car was not in the store empty light .
So when the tank is completely empty ?
For example, the line did you finished ?
Or when did you come upon the letter "E" ?

Many thanks ;)

when an empty light comes on you have about 30 miles before you run out of gas, usually the light will come on before the needle is on E

On a Mk 2/3/4 suzuki swift/cultus/metro the fuel gauge indicates empty when there is at least 4 to 6 liters of fuel left in the tank. This can vary depending on individual calibration.

When I first read the title of this post 'gasoline. When it ends.' I thought it was a philosophical question about what happens when we can no longer buy gasoline because it is all gone?'

:P

The best way to know is to carry a small can of gas (a gallon should be enough to get you back to a fuel station under normal circumstances with these cars) with you and drive it until you run out of fuel.

I've had some Swift variant cars that went well over 100km past the point of being on E before it finally ran out. Your results may vary. You really can't say exactly when they will run out because of uncontrollable variables (how do you drive the car, how far out of calibration is your gauge?).

Driving it under normal conditions until it runs dry is the only way to tell what you can expect from a tank of gas.

I know it's time to go to the gas station when I feel the car loose power while accelerating from a stop light or stop sign. Another time it lost power was while on a clover leaf, trying to accelerate before reaching the freeway to merge with traffic. Both times, the needle was on the top of the E, but I would tend to agree... have a gas can with you if you really want to find out for sure.

I've seen the suggestions on removing the rear seat and the passenger side view mirror to lighten and streamline the car to increase your fuel mileage, and my reaction to that is...
How much does a half tank of gas weigh in comparison? Look it up for yourself, but I'm pretty sure you'll find it weighs a bit more than the rear seat!
We can still go a good distance on a half (or even a third) of a tank of gas in our little Metros. I only put about 15 miles a day on my rig during my daily commute to work and back, but even with the weekend trips to the post office & grocery shopping I've been getting about 42 - 45 mpg around town, and a full tank of gas easily lasts a good 4 weeks.
That's a paltry 13 to 14 trips to the gas station a year for my normal routine and basically double that if I put in a half tank every other week.
But still, there are many variables besides the weight of your vehicle that influence gas mileage , especially for in-town driving.
