Thanks Johnnymullet, your guide to getting a Swift g/box out was excellent. All went well except for two minor problems;
1. the flange nuts on my car wouldn't co-operate and one of them ( :huh: the most difficult to get to) refused to part company with its stud.
2. doing it yourself without any help aint such a good idea when your'e nearing 70.
Otherwise a piece of cake, very easy little car to work on for the most part.

Thanks for an excellent how to article Johnny Mullet, and thanks also to all the others who contributed their valuable advice, tips and experience. Because I've grown increasingly lazy over the years I was going to pay someone else to install the new NKK clutch kit I just bought for my 1.3 liter sohc 1994 Swift 4 door sedan but this how to article is so good it has motivated me to do it myself. I'm putting in a new rear main crank seal at the same time. The NKK clutch kit is the exact same part number as the NKK clutch kit that was installed in my '87 Sprint Turbo 2 years ago. I've been abusing the piss out of that clutch for almost the past year now (it sat uninsured and unused for a year before I put it on the road) and its held up fine which is why I went with another NKK clutch kit this time.
