 Post subject: VSS Circuit Problem!
PostPosted: Thu May 11, 2006 7:08 am
Hello dear car fellows!!!
I am owner of a Suzuki Swift (Extreme) 1.0L model 1995, and in the last days the CEL appeared in my life.....
I follow the instruction that someone wrote in a previews topic, and the code that came up was 24 (two flashes, pause, four flashes). If iam reading correctly in the troublecodes page (http://www.troublecodes.net/suzuki), thats means VSS circuit failure.
How this failure can be repaired?
Thanks in advance!! :)

as long as your speedometer is working correctly, and assuming your car is the same as ours across the pond, the sensor is behind the instrument cluster where the cable goes into the housing.

I am also getting a code 24. I replaced the instrument cluster/pod and there was no change. My speedometer still does not work...so I am assuming that it is my speedometer cable that is bad. This may be your problem as well swift1995.

Thank you fo your perplies!!!
Althought i didnt find where exactly that circuit is.
(The speedometer i think works correctly, and I noticed that the CEL turns on, only when there is heat. For example, in the morning nothing happens, but at noon and especially if i have parked the car in the sun, after a few minute the CEL turns on!!)

The VSS in the tranny is for the tranny only. The ECU looks to the one on/in the speedometer. At least in the US models.
