Of course the timing could be off, and there are enough threads about that here. Use the search function.

What I would do:
1.)Take an Ohm-meter and check the four high-tension cables for continuity. Check the plugs for correct type and correct gap.
2.) Open hood when dark and start engine. Take a good look if there are any sparks around the high-tension leads (plug cables). If so, replace.
