Anybody know of good current sources retail or mailorder for these? (Tampa) I went to a local shop (Kaufman) and they have a 16 order waiting list. They called another chain and there were 50 sets on backorder. WalMart and Tire Kingdom apparently don't carry them any longer either.

I have a set of 13's with fresh tires but would like to avoid swapping.

Thanks!

I'd just do the swap to 13's. I just bought 12's $48 a piece at discount tire. They are hard to come by and expensive.

America's Tires has them out here on the west coast. They're also called Discount Tire.
I bought them for $20/each about 8 months ago. Saw they were running a deal in today's paper for $29/each.

Here you go.

Once you get the cars dialed-in (compression, leaks, bearings, alignment, brakes) swap in new rubber and glass, you've got something which should last for years!

Thanks for all the leads, everyone. Kaufman had them listed as available online and when we actually went to the store they were not.

I found the 155 Kumho's at several different online stores, not that rare you just have to do some digging. Personally, I've got a set of 145 Yokohamas on order from Summit Racing. They're supposed to ship in 2-3 weeks from the Yokohama warehouse in WI. Tire Rack also listed these but couldn't give me a ship date.

If it's about mileage, then the 145's get my vote.

Out here, the heat is pretty tough on tires.

The 155's have a little more rubber, and might run a bit cooler.

Thanks. i cant find a DT store in GA with them. stores in FL have them for $29. TOO FAR, stores in SC (CLOSER) have them for $49. definitely twisted. i called Discount Tire Direct at 800-589-6789 and was told "special order will take 7-10 days. $40 including shipping. " i called Tirerack and he said TWO would cost $68 +22ship&tax=90 shipped and may take 5 wks.

bummer. I would think the local DT store would order them to the store and have them for you within a week for NO additional shipping charge.

I posted this about a mont ago in suspension/braking/tire advice

I just recieved 2 Kumho Powerstar 758's (155/80-R12) from http://www.tirestoday.com/store/home_2.php. Cost was $25.23 each.
Fed Ex 3-day shipping for both was about $10. I ordered on 4/22 and got the tires on 4/29.
For what I would have payed (with shipping) at Tire Easy (the next cheapest on-line dealer), I could have just about bought another tire from Tires Today.

THANKS. that is the best news all week. :D no one is selling 12" tires in GA. too many tractors and pickups. :) I was going to buy just 2 ($80 or $90 as mentioned above) but 4 for $116.83 shipped was too good to pass up. includes the "predisposal tax!" i can feel the vein in my forehead throbbing and my eye twitching :furious: like we need another dag blasted tax we didnt vote on. :puker: this one pays for the removal of tires from ditches? i thought littering fines covered that! :!: :!: :!:
