I recently parted out a rust free 92 Metro and decided to cut the control arm mounts out to see if they can be used in somebody's rust bucket. The complete mount can be taken off your rusty car and replaced the right way and look like the factory made it. There are quite a lot of spotwelds holding this part on but if someone is willing to drill out the old welds and prep the metal the good mounts can be welded in the original place . I'd like to do a tutorial about how to do this but in my neck of the woods i've never run into a rusted out Metro to use for this project. I do have one three sets of mounts that i will be selling if anyone is interested. I have a right and left side right now and have two other parts carts that I plan on dismanteling this spring . Let me know what you think if anyone is interested.

Nice job cutting that out.

Post it in the right place before it gets deleted.

I just did that with my 92 metro on the passenger side Went to the salvage yard, cut it out myself and paid $35.00 for it. The driver side was not bad enough to replace and took well to patching, but the passenger side was shot. I did not do the full replace, but cut it at the firewall (don't have all the pics uploaded here yet):

And the rest (some are here on this site in my album):

I would still be interested in them.

What's wrong with posting it here? Rust is a ''problem'' on Metros and Swifts and this is a way that anyone can get it ''fixed'' right. Any one reading this has the option to go out and find these parts themselves and I'm showing them how it can be gotten in one piece.

Sure looks like an ad to me.

It's not a big deal, but you'd be surprised at how many posts I either move or delete.
