The ground on the back is the commonly missed one, there's three main grounds that go on one or two bolts that manage to hide and get missed. Confirm those first.
Next make sure all fuses are ok, make sure check engine light comes on with key turned to on position, that will tell you ECM is getting power and ground properly.
Safe to safe timing belt stuff is fine, but make sure cam is turning when engine turns over. Look through oil filler cap while cranking engine.
Next, or at some point take a test light and make sure you have 12v at the coil with key on. One wire should have 12v with key on and cranking as well, one wire will flash when it's turning over.
Touch base when you have gone thru this list, I bet you really only have one little thing wrong and will find it fairly quickly. Good luck!

Get yourself a wiring diagram, start from the battery, to the main fuse, to the fuse box and so on.

At the end of the day, it's something you did or missed. Gotta be something there. I can't really do much more from here. Do you have no spark at coil, or at plugs? Injector pulse good, fuel pressure ok? Timing belt marks lined up correctly?
