I have a '92 1L 'vert with the engine out of a '91 vert. This past week I noticed the fuel mileage dropping, then it started tripping the CEL. I just installed a new O2 sensor, then checked the codes. It has a #13 and a #42. #13 - O2S Circuit and #42 - Crank Angle Sensor Circuit. I didn't even know this things had a CAS. I'm kinda stumped at what or how to check what next. Suggestions? The engine smells rich at idle and seems to be idling a little high coming off throttle, then slows down to around 850-950 RPM.

I tried using the search function, that's how I found the port in the fuse holder to check codes.

I just cleared the codes and ran it here in my shop, no codes, but it's making a strange sound like a small air compressor running, sort of a popping sound, but the engine runs OK. BTW, the CATs gutted. It sounds like it might be related to some kind of emission type valve.
