I am looking into a new meet at Steel Lake Park in Federal Way Wa. It is 11 miles south of South Center where we had the last meet. I am planning on July or August. It will be a family event where you can bring the kids and such. It is bound to be crowded so we can really show off our cars. There are picnic areas, skateboard court, baseball field, soccer field, basket ball court, and of course swimming in the lake with a lifeguard on duty. I want to reserve a barbecue area as well. They have covered areas. Let me know if anyone is interested? I will spring for some food! I will probably get a trophy for the the show winner. :P Not sure if winner should be selected by votes or judge. Let the ideas fly ok!

Now there's a novel idea - a meet in the summer when it's not likely to rain

I'll attend if I'm available.

No rain :rollin:
It's still in Seattle.
I like the idea of a park that's why I suggested the Fort up on Whidbey Island.
Seattle works for me also.
Picnic Lunch, and a place for kids to have fun on the family side will be good for those with kids.
Date for the meet is the big question.
I will be on vacation mid July, and bust later half of August.
Saturdays or Sundays work well for me and Jr.
Sundays have a little less traffic, but the park may be busier.

July is all booked up for me.... August is clean so far. The summer gets busy fast... good idea to start planning this now.

we're having a bar-b-q/open house at the shop june 17th in Redmond, WA, if anyone wants to come out and see all the porsche racecars I build/maintain :)
plan is to have the dyno setup and my turbo sprint running as well :) of course there may be a large number of porsche owners/customers I'll have to socialize with as well.

I am currently working on getting a vert ready for the meet. I called federal way parks dept and all openings at steel lake park that are reservable are reserved! ACK.

So I am thinking at the end of august that way most of us that live in the rainy northwest will have time to complete or near complete our cars for the year. August rains very little and that month allows a real good chance to avoid the rainy seattle weather! Hows August 24th looking?

We will have to barbecue in the general non reserved areas and of course we will have the lake to swim in for the heat of the day.

I may have to renew my tabs. before the weekend, just have the spark plug wires to crimp and the car "should" run ....still have to update my megasquirt firmware, calibrate the wideband, and waiting on a new battery for my laptop...
been fiberglassing the hood to fit the big intercooler this week, bar-b-q is in just a few days .... probably need to clean up the shop as well ;)

Not sure if I can make it unless I convince the wife I can drive to Seattle and get back to Aldergrove before 5pm.
I am dying to hear this car of Kris's run.
I dunno! An 89 GTi and a radar detector, I think we can do it.
Gonna be a last minute thing tho.

I was talking about the possible August meet that Vert Guy mentioned... I doubt I can make anything earlier and this month is out of the question...
