When My engine and trans come out of my '92 I'm going to do things like that, Knuckles. That is beautiful.

I had been trying to decide what color to go with for a while, until I saw Metromikes car again at the meet.
I liked the match to his car color, so I decided to go red.
The Plastikote universal red engine enamel was a close match to my car color.

Its not a perfect job, but its not bad for my first time.

its important to have it clean and degreased, them prime it first with an etching primer

gonna do the same to my old one, get rid of the black wrinkle the previous owner put on.

I'm selling my 89 GTi to some guy tomorrow who builds rally racing cars for a living, and is turning it into a rally racing car for a customer who has raced/owned $200,000 rally cars. I'm really excited to see how it turns out. Also, this way I can keep my stereo since he's stripping the interior anyway.

What about the body kit?
I don't think he needs the extra pieces on a Rally car.

Yeah, I already asked him about that and told him I would lower the price 250 dollars if I can take the body kit, but he said he wants it on there if he buys it. He still hasn't bought it yet though, so I might take the kit off for you if he ends up flaking out, but he is really interested.

I would like to chime in too, regarding the meet in Seattle.
I had a great time meeting Mike, Knuckles and his son, Mike and Scott.
For an old guy I felt very comfortable with the young bucks.
Good to see Dale again too!. A special thanks to Scott on advice in regards to my engine stumble. Some beautiful cars were present.
Hope to do it again next year.

Hi all,

Well I'm sorry I missed the meet. I simply did not know about it.....

I generally only look at the Fuel Economy threads so had no idea.

We were down in Mexico with the Metro but I think your meet occurred before we left?

Hopefully next year

Regards,

haha this was an awesome meet. to those that were interested in buying my swift or the oem lip kit and fender flares, I ended up selling the car with everything on it for only 1,800 because I'd already bought a 93 integra that I needed to pay off, worst decision I've ever made. I miss it every day. Since the gti I've had a red 1993 integra GS, flamenco black pearl 1998 integra GS-R, teal 1994 Civic hatch w/ fully built b20 vtec motor (weighed about as much as a swift and was pushing 250 horsepower to the wheels, naturally aspirated too!), and now I've ended up with a slammed laguna blue 2001 Honda S2000. Every time I got a new car after the Swift I felt like I needed to mod it up because it didn't feel the same way the swift felt, so I did lots of modifications to every single car just to figure out that NO car no matter whats done to it will ever feel the same way the swift did. I think it might just be the fact that it was my first car and I had all my fun first driving memories in it, but it might just be that Swift gti's are AWESOME! I am so pissed I let my swift go especially with the lip kit and fender flares!!! :( sorry to post this on this old thread just felt like expressing my emotions about how much I miss the Swift. I'm not even satisfied with an s2000 for petes sake
