YOU'RE INVITED!

On Saturday July 11th I am hosting Westiva 2015 which is primarily a meet and greet for Festiva and Aspire fans and owners. This is the seventh annual edition of the meet and we have decided to send an invite out to fans and owners of other econoboxes from the same era.

So consider yourself invited!

Here are a few details...

When: Saturday July 11th, 2015
Where: Wedge Pond Day Use Area, Kananaskis Country, Alberta, Canada (about a one hour drive from Calgary's western city limits).
What: Meet and greet at the pond in the morning. After a picnic lunch we'll take an afternoon 30km cruise to grab an ice cream cone at Boulton Creek Trading Post (yes it's worth the drive :D) and then on to the Upper Kananaskis Lake.
Why: why not?

Here's a video one of our members took a couple of years ago. http://youtu.be/OohTKJBnwyE

This photo was taken by my oldest son on his way up "the Wedge", the peak for which the Wedge Pond is named. If you look close you can see the Festivas that made it out for Westiva 2011!

Less than three weeks to go! We are providing a picnic lunch so would like to get a handle on the number of people so please let us know if you are planning to attend. Weather is looking great... long range forecast is calling for 26º/79ºF.

After ice cream we continued on to Upper Kananaskis Lake this is us just arrived in the parking lot.

Enjoying a lakeside stroll. The lakes in Southern Alberta are very low. That's Ryan in the red shirt and black shorts. He's standing where the water line usually is at this time of year.

Spotted this young grizzly bear on the way out, not far from where we stopped for ice cream earlier in the day!!

I consider Westiva 2015 a great success! Thanks to Rockauto.com for the gift card which was awarded to Brad for having travelled the furthest. Also thank you to a local car wash that provided gift cards for Calgary attendees. And I can't forget to thank Sharon, my wife, for bringing out a picnic lunch for us all! We had great weather, saw a couple of regulars and made some new friends as well. Looking forward to next year's edition which will be July 16th.

Will you be there to represent the Swift community???
