Well, it was an inexpensive experiment. The engine started on the first try though now we have the "check engine" light on all the time. The car would break the tires loose in first gear from a roll with the stock chip. It won't do it now on wet pavement. Power before was nice and did not drop off significantly right up to the stock rev limiter at 7450 (or thereabouts if that isn't the exact rev limit setting). Now the car has a hard time lifting the tach above 7000 RPM. We'll try some different base ignition timing settings to see if we can recover some of the lost power. I'm guessing we're down 20ish right now from stock. I'm afraid the check engine light is telling me the ECU has sent the car into "limp home" mode and therefore won't be making any power. It's late now, the car is too loud to play any more but we'll try some other things later in the week. We're going to put some race gas back in the car and put timing into it until it runs again. I don't know what to do to cheat on the richness but that issue has to be addressed as well. The car will make you cry driving behind it. No timing, full rich. Cheap chip. I guess we wanted the increased RPM limit too much and picked the wrong way to get it. More to come good or bad on this.

OK, we pulled the code from the car. The code is "ECM Failure". Damn, I love this chip. :(
