Ok... I'm really getting sick of seeing this exact same post over, and over, and over, and over... "Can (insert engine here) fit into a swift?" The answer is no. Unless it's a Suzuki G16, G13, or a G10, no, it won't fit. But, here's the killer.. You can make it fit! All you need is experience welding tubular steel frames, modifying drive axles, fabricating angle brackets, mounts, and other adapters, and a very very good knowledge of automotive electronics... Here's an idea. Go find a (insert motor here), measure it, measure the transmission, measure the vehicle mount positions, axle lengths, and all that good stuff.... Then, measure the engine compartment of a swift, and take note of the mounting positions, clerances for things like the steering rack and brake booster.

We'll make an example of this post

THERE IS NO DOCUMENTATION ON THIS FORUM THAT EXPLAINS HOW TO ADD ANY MOTOR TO YOUR CAR OTHER THAN A SUZUKI G SERIES ENGINE.
So.. If anyone does decide they have the skill to get'r done, rather than ask the same questions over and over again, please... document it, photograph it, and post it. I'll make it a sticky.... Just like this one.

do u think a 2.2 liter ecotec dohc gm 4-cylinder in a metro would be downright sick or what? I've been thinking about putting one into my 2001 LSi or a hatchback:twisted:

please refrain from publicly agreeing with geozukigti.

it makes his head swell up bigger than the time he dropped that engine on it.

I'm a tool! Not only did i put one in my swift i turbod it, and can't make a post on how it's done. It fits. I have pictures of it in the gallery. Just search for my name in there. A j18 and j20 fits in a swift, and must use j18 tranny and u can use the gti axles with a little mod. I'll post a write-up on it soon

i thought about dropping a DOHC 6G72 in mine.....until i measured the engine and found it about 12" wider than the engine bay in the swift.

next measurement will be on a VR6

im still considering putting one behind the seats. build my own shogun using a 350+ HP mitsu V6.
