I have a 2000 Metro lsi with a tired 1.3L that I would like to swap for a 3 cylinder. The 3 cyls. I'm seeing are early to mid 90's so I would like to know if this is an easy swap? I've read postings about the crank sensor on the later model and changing more parts to accept this. I'm guessing this needs to be done to keep the smog inspection people happy? Can the 1.0L bolt to the 2000 auto trans easily? Any other issues?
Thanks

from what i have heard about CA laws you can not change the # of cylinders unless your car is so old it is exempt. you better check on this!

complete donor car and a complete drivetrain swap and wiring swap with a lot of enginewity it could be done but I would just replace what ya got.
easier and a lot less hassle an money in my mind
