I am attempting to put a 1.0 into a gti body. The rear mount and the passenger side mount works but not the drivers side. Does anyone know if the drivers just need moved or does the other two need moved as well? Or is there another option?

Well a member here told me he put longer bolts and a 2inch spacer beween his mount and it worked out nicely, for anyone that runs into the same problem.

You would have to customize the mount with a welder, or make an adapter plate.

But WHY?????

You will then be driving a geo metro, but paying insurance for a GTI.... My 2 pennies....

Which motor came out of the car, 3 or 4 cylinder. Extra cylinder = extra width.
