Hi

I was thinking about swaping a 1992 motor and trany out of a swift gti into a 1993 swift gl.

Please share some experience or just general info about doing this, is it a big deal?, i have a garage with all basic tools and i have basic knowledge how this all works. Im not to good with the wirework though, is that a big issue?

any info would be awesome

Hi....Nice Swift I like them in Black. There is a post from a fellow Icelander just down a few posts from yours. Ztebbsterinn, "Regular cabrio to GTi" check his post out. Maybe you can get in touch with him by pm and he will share his experience with you. :D :D

search some more. there are a few good threads on this subject. it should be a straight forward swap. Not much to change.

unless you have a 3 banger, or it's different from a north american car, it could be slightly different then.

good luck

MK3 GTi to MK3 GTi swap is gonna be pretty easy. Engine mounts, wiring, etc all can be left alone. Just pull the motor, and drop in another one.
