Hey guys I bought a geo metro a little while back for $50, and I'm going to build a rally style car out of it. I've got everything to put the car back together with the 1.0L, but at the same time I've got everything to put it together with the g13b SOHC. What I'm wanting to know is if i need to get the 4cyl ECU or wiring harness? I already have to get a harness because the one out of the car was cut up. I've got a salvage yard near my house that has lots of SOHC Swifts and metros so the parts shouldn't be hard to come by. Any help on this or any tips are welcome, Thanks guys

check out the geo to gti swap threads, you need to do all the same things, since the mounts are the same, you might be able to get away with the 1.0 harness, only thing i can think of that might be different is the dizzy hiring.

Well I know whats involved in the swap as far as the 4cyl part goes, I'm just wondering on the EFI part, as far as the ECU and the Wiring Harness. I've got two parted out 4cyl cars, so I'm going to swap over the bigger brakes, cv's, knuckles, and I've got all the mounts, but I don't have a harness or ECU.

I think you can keep the 3 cyl harness, but you'll need a G13 ECU.

I'm going to do this same swap into a convertible metro. I picked up a 1991 1.3 SOHC donor car, and have never even seen a GT DOHC car. What is the dist. issue?

The dist difference is that the 3cyl one has a 3point reluctor wheel and the 4cyl has a 4point wheel. Just simply needs to space firing for 4cyls rather than 3.
