Can I swap a 92 XFI motor into a 96 Base Geo? the XFI is complete and on the cheap.

Thanks in advance.

Yes but lots of work. You will need to swap over a lot of stuff, more if the 96 is a 4 cylinder. Look around using the search tool, you should find all the info needed. This would be better posted in the Mk2 Mk3 non turbo category. This section is mainly for conversions to the GTi or turbo engine.

You can, but for the 96 computer to run the engine, you need to swap the oil pump, oil pan, crank sensor, crank and cam gears, and belt to the XFi engine. Use the intake manifold from the 96 also.

The head and block are the same.

read here for that info. it isn't expressly for the xfi but it covers most of the big stuff.
