I've seen a lot on the g13 head on a g16 block. But nothing in the way of the flip side. I understand compression will drop. But what about internals. Like valves not hitting the block etc. Was thinking this would be a great set up for a turbo or any sort of boost set up.
What are implications of doing this swap and has anyone done it?

Why? There is no advantage to using these heads. They flow well, but the valve/rocker/cam arrangement is not conducive to making big power.

Hmm. I'm looking at boosting my 1.6 16v. But from what I have heard they have a cast crank not forged. So I would assume around 130hp is pushing the limit? As the crank may not hold up to the stress. I wonder if anything over 10psi would wreck it. Maybe 5psi is the limit. Figured I'd ask here since you folk know g engines.

Maybe I misunderstood. What exactly are you asking?

Well I was wondering if adding a 1.6 head to a 1.3 block would be a good option for making a boosted motor. As compression would drop. 1.3 lower end parts are easy to find. Not so much for 1.6 16v. More performance parts for 1.3 and easier to find after market. I want to make around 120 to 130hp tops. To give me a little more get up and go.

Putting the 1.6 head on the 1.3 is not worth your time. No gains to be had.

If you are after more power for your 1.6 16v then just boost it. The crank isn't as strong as the GT but it can certainly handle some more power via a low boost setup.

If your looking for strength your best bet would be to swap the whole GT motor in, and then boost it, you'd have a very strong bottom end that loves to rev.

I wish I could find a 1.3 dohc. But in the States not an easy find. I guess just straight boost will be the way to go. As I found a website with a turbo setup for 150 on stock crank. Thanks for the help. Wish Suzuki would make some more 1.3 dohc motors and heads to send out into the world.
