Hi there guys, im new the site here. i just wanted to ask if its possible to fit a 1.6 dohc hybrid into my 98 metro 1.3 sohc auto. i've been planning a manual swap and was wondering what, if any, engine swaps might be possible. the 1.3 dohc should fit right? and the dohc head bolts onto the 1.6 block right? so does the 1.6 block fit into my car? My car is a Mk3 right? like third generation? I dont know if i have the money, tools, or the time for an engine swap as its my only car, but it would be nice to know if i have options.
Also do you guys have any recommendations for intake header exhaust mods for my car. does anyone make performance cams?

Should go check out the 1.6 conversion forum. *use the SEARCH function* I'm sure this has been discussed several times on the forum.

Your in the wrong section for SOHC questions. Go read through the SOHC section about my project. Yes that 1.6 block will bolt in. Yes the DOHC head will bolt onto the 1.6 block, but why when you have a perfectly capable motor? You have a 4th generation chassis. Cams you ask? Go talk to Mike Cove but you may want to wait until I try the first proto type cam out in my engine. Your throttle body is way too tiny, you will have to change it but you have to be very handy with a die grinder and comfortable pulling the intake off the engine to modify it.

Go to the SOHC section and you will learn a ton of info about your car.

Later,
